Classes

Colette has several classes to choose from and to acheive total body fitness attending a variety of the classes ensures you stretch as well as do cardio and strength work. Combining classes will give better and quicker results.  The group fitness classes are €12 for drop-in or you can buy a loyalty card of 10 classes for €100.  This card can be used for all classes.

Fusion

Total body fitness by combining Kick-Boxing, Super Sets and Yoga. This class is for everyone, no prior experience is necessary in kick-boxing or yoga. Super Sets incorporate bursts of challenging cardio kick-boxing with a sequence of strength and core exercises. Performed in the right order and in the right way, these classes tone, define and sculpt the body. Jab, Cross and Side-Kicks are some of the basics you will learn in bursts of shadow kick-boxing as well as self defense moves. Classes end with a few simple yoga movements that stretch and relax the body so you recover rapidly.

Form & Flow Yoga

Yoga is for everybody, not just the flexible or spiritual. Form and Flow Yoga concentrates on the stretch and strength elements of Yoga with a few minutes at the end for relaxation. Those who try Yoga for the first time with Colette are surprised at how challenging it is. The benefits of Yoga are important for the stresses modern living places upon our bodies. Yoga develops a strong back and posture, important for those who regularly sit at a desk, travel, drive or have a child regularly perched on one hip. Yoga helps create long lean lines to your body for those who simply wish to slim down and tone. For anyone exercising regularly Yoga keeps muscles supple to prevent injury and ensuring rapid recover for your next session.

Open to all levels, men and women will feel at home in ‘Form and Flow Yoga’ with options for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. No-one will feel out of their depth or not challenged enough. Colette explains and encourages how to find correct postures and provides individual modifications. A calming yet challenging set of movements will ensure you become stronger and more flexible.

For those who know their Yoga – Colette teaches from the classical Ashtanga and Iyengar traditions.  Using the flow of Ashtanga to warm the body and holding postures with great attention to alignment – a signature of the Iyengar teachings. Colette has fairly small classes giving her time to provide individual attention during the class therefore regularly attending these classes, of which there are 3 per week, will see rapid improvements in your ability.

Super Set Saturdays

For those with busy lives and a determination to get fitter, this is the class for you. Asking your body to perform very different exercises in the same class means your body works harder. The first hour of this 2 hour class is a Fusion class – cardio bursts of kick-boxing, strength and core exercises. The second hour is a Flow and Form Yoga class concentrating on strength and stretching. It doesn’t matter if you have no experience at all in Kick-boxing or Yoga; this special class is for everyone regardless of fitness level or experience. Beginners will enjoy the easy-to-pick-up shadow kick-boxing movements and the strength and suppleness that yoga delivers. Those with more experience can concentrate on accuracy and perfecting and strengthening the combinations and exercises. Start your weekend putting yourself and your body first.

Riviera Run Club

“After attending some of the Fusion classes organised by Colette, I noticed a marked improvement in my stamina while out running. I am a keen and seasoned runner who has suffered from a few injuries in past years, but Colette’s focus on building core strength has helped to deal with some of these issues. Colette decided to start the Riviera Run Club after talking with several of her clients about their fitness goals.  She discovered that many of them want to compete in running events, however, they didn’t know where to begin.  Colette has put together running programmes for the absolute beginner to the more experienced runner.  Running alone can be boring, so this club will make this a more social and appealing event providing collective support and motivation.

Colette Fitness Run Challenge

Date: Sunday 29th April, 2012

 Choose your Challenge:

  • 2km – Walk in support of the fight against breast cancer is open to everyone.
  • 5km – La Nicoise is a women only run in support of the fight against breast cancer.
  • 10km – Open to everyone.

 Run Programme:
Colette Fitness will provide an 8 week training programme for the 5km and 10km distance, group runs, post run yoga and stretch sessions, support, training tips and encouragement along the way. Please note that there will be no training programme provided for the 2km walk.  However, it gives those of you not interested in running an opportunity to be part of the day. This challenge will end with a celebration lunch in Nice on Sunday 29th April.

Couch to 5km Challenge:
The 5km programme is for the absolute beginner and it’s more of a walk/jog programme than a running programme.  The goal is to have you completing a comfortable 5km in just 2 months!  You will follow an 8 week training programme and you will train 3 times per week for 20-30mins.  One of these three runs will be a group run with Colette Fitness.  Here are the details for the group run session;
Day: Monday’s – starting the week of March 5th.
Time: 6:30pm
Location: Gallery Oscar, 9 rue Fodere, Nice

10km Run Challenge
The 10km is a great distance for the beginner runner who is already comfortable running 15-20 minutes.  You will follow an 8 week programme and you will train 3 to 4 times per week.   One of these runs will be a group run with Colette Fitness.  Here are the details for the group run session;
Day: Tuesday’s – starting the week of March 5th.
Time: 6:15pm
Location: Hi Hotel business centre, 9 rue Caffarelli, Nice

The Payoff: Completing your goal with support and encouragement along the way and celebrating our accomplishment together with lunch in Nice after the big event!
