“Growing up in Ireland I wasn’t a naturally ‘sporty’ person and only discovered my passion for fitness in my late 20′s while living in the U.S. I’ve had to work hard to maintain my weight and achieve the level of fitness where I can compete in triathlons, running and cycling events.
I believe that the experiences of these challenges is what helps me relate to my clients, from the amateur athlete to those who are starting out on improving their fitness, because I have been there also.
I believe in the mantra, “It’s Not Fitness, It’s Life” and this is the realistic approach that I bring to my clients. I don’t believe in dieting, food is a huge pleasure in life and is their to be enjoyed with family and friends. I encourage clients to think about making a lifestyle change in regards to fitness and healthy eating and I try to make it enjoyable in the process!” Colette
Colette decided to concentrate on fitness as a sole career after years of juggling a day job as well as teaching classes at well known gyms when living in the States. Since arriving in Nice, Colette has developed Colette Fitness, a feel-good fitness community consisting of fitness and yoga classes, personal training and a run club.
Fitness did not come easy to Colette and it is with this appreciation of the challenges involved to achieving a high level of health and fitness that translates into the Colette Kent Philosophy and signature style. Colette is as comfortable working with amateur athletes as she is with those at the beginning of their journey to fitness, or even back to fitness after injury or many years of a sedentary life.
Colette challenges ‘just enough’ so improvements are constant and you never feel static or defeated. Serious about achieving fitness goals, Colette also shows in every class, run and personal training session that fitness is a fun part of life to be enjoyed, not a chore. It is this powerful, positive, motivational and fun energy coupled with her own technique that ‘fuses’ different exercises from different genres that results in rave Testimonials.
Colette practices what she preaches and is always training for her next event. She competes regularly in triathlons, running and cycling events. Some of Colette’s achievements include Ironman Nice, Nice-Cannes marathon and the l’Etape du Tour Mondovélo, a stage of the famed Tour de France. She is also a black belt in Thai Kickboxing. Colette lives by her mantra ‘It’s not Fitness. It’s Life!’
